Motus takes its name from the Latin word for “movement,” reflecting a firm committed to clear, creative engineering. By combining structural and building-envelope expertise, they design solutions that are efficient, intentional, and grounded in real project needs—not overbuilt conventions.

Research & Strategy

Understanding the Brand & Audience

Through a detailed brand questionnaire, I identified key insights that shaped the direction:

  • Ideal clients: construction firms, architects, developers, contractors, and property managers

  • Core values: Creativity, Excellence, Transparency

  • Brand personality: Warm, Savvy, Smart, Playful, Tinkerer, Thoughtful

The existing site was sparse and didn’t communicate their dual expertise or creative approach. My strategic goal was to build a site that felt credible, modern, and distinctively “Motus.”

Competitive Landscape

I reviewed leading firms including Sense Engineering, RDH, RJC, WSP, and Entuitive. Best practices included concise value propositions, strong project visuals, trust-driven storytelling, and clear service architecture.

Present across competitors—but missing from Motus—were:

  • A nuanced brand story

  • Personality and approachability

  • A structured way to communicate specialized work

Strategic Foundation

The website strategy focused on:

  • Demonstrating expertise quickly and clearly

  • Highlighting Motus’s creativity and big-picture thinking

  • Structuring services in ways clients can easily understand

  • Showcasing project stories through a flexible CMS

  • Supporting recruitment through intentional messaging

A scalable Webflow build formed the operational backbone.
